The ACT, which competes with the College Board for test-takers, prohibits calculators with CAS functionality. Seven models of the TI-Nspire CAS are on the College Board’s list. The CAS version is not allowed on ACTs but is allowed on SATs. I have also had the NSpire CX (NOT CAS) This was by due to its acceptance on all standardized testing. I have owned a TI-85 84 84plus 89 and 92. The TI Nspire CX CAS is the absolutely hands down best calculator on the market today.
